Flora Power
24” x 20”
January 2025
This piece honors the glorious colors and biodiversity represented amongst the flora kingdom as well as the vital role of photosynthesis; the process by which plants use sunlight to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose while releasing oxygen into the environment. Plants also have the power to purify the air through “Phytoremediation,” a process where they absorb harmful chemicals such as ammonia, benzene, and formaldehyde.
Garden Fairy: Doireann
9” x 9”
January 2025
Meet Doireann, the second in my series of block-printed and stitched garden fairies made almost entirely from designer swatches from Fabmo Creative Reuse Center. Doire is Irish for wood and often translated to mean "fruitful or fertile" which seemed especially approriate for a garden fairy! Here she is sprinkling her fairy dust to help her garden thrive with beautiful blooms.
Garden Fairy: Chloe
9” x 9”
January 2025
Chloe is the first finished garden fairy made with designer fabric swatches that were block printed and stitched. Chloe is a greek name meaning "blooming" or "green sprout" which seemed especially perfect for this first garden fairy. She and her fairy friends were all inspired by Project Quilting 16.1 challenge theme: Mythical Creatures.
CarveDecember 2024
During the month of December 2024, I carved one or more blocks as inspired by the #CarveDecember prompts. Over the 31 days, 81 blocks were carved and printed, in addition to filling a 2” binder of printed patterns, along with fodder to incorporate into future Artist Trading Cards.
PrintINKTOBEr 2024: 31 Days of Block Printing FABRIC FLORALS
In conjuction with PrintInktober 2024, each day I revisited previously carved blocks to block a beautiful variety of fabric floral elements onto fabric swatches sourced from Fabmo Creative Reuse Center. You can learn more about my game plan, materials, and process for successfully block printing 31 days’ worth of fabric florals in my Celebratory blog post.
Follow me on Instagram/Facebook to see how I layer these floral elements into floral arrangements that I can stitch and finish into art quilts.
Beatrix
15” x 16”
August 2024
Beatrix means "voyager, traveller" with it's latin adaptation meaning "blessed, happy." I thought this was a fitting title given her 6-week start-to-finish voyage and the amount of happiness I experienced during the printing and stitching stages. How fitting that her Name Day in Hungary was approaching on August 29th, 3 days after her finish!
AGalia
12” x 12”
June 2024
Introducing, Agalia, a happy nymph-like character filled with merriment! Created through a whimsical combination of hand-carved block prints, she is magically transformed through joyful layers of hand embroidery and free-motion quilting. The colorful stitching captures her cheerful disposition. Agalia paves the way for more delightful block-printed and stitched nymph friends to follow. Made for SAQA’s September/October Benefit Auction.
Irish Daisy Chain
23” x 23”
March 2024

tiME
6” x 8”
February 2024
Made for Project Quilting’s 15.4 Hourglass Challenge. It reflects upon this quote by John Estrin (television producer, writer, director): "The way we spend our time defines who we are."
Board game hourglass timers served as inspiration for a new set of hand-carved hourglass block prints. Each hourglass represents one of four categories of how I choose to spend my time, as evidenced by the catalog of meetings, projects, and tasks in my weekly bullet journal spreads.
Creating this piece gave me time to reflect on how I choose to spend my tiME, thereby defining ME. How do we carve out time for ourselves, especially our creativity?
This piece was donated to the April 2024 Spotlight Auction to support SAQA’s mission to promote the art quilt. ⏳
Windows Into The Soul
25” x 22”
February 2024
Made for Project Quilting’s 15.3 Inside Out Challenge. It was inspired by a TED Talk by french artist JR and his Inside Out Project featuring portraits pasted onto buildings, trains, and other iconic landmarks. This piece features a newly carved stamp of yours truly that was block printed onto a gorgeous palette of rayon/silk fashion swatches. Inverted images represent my reflections on life changes, vision, perception, etc. More textured fabmo fabrics were used in the assymmetrical borders to reference architecture as used in JR's Inside Out Project installations.
Juried into Art Movements in Fiber, SAQA NorCal/NV Regional Exhibition, 2024 and SAQA’s Virtual Gallery Connection with Fabric, 2025.
